Right now, the private sector is literally being mugged. Main Street is being mugged. I’m running for Congress in Oregon’s First District because we cannot survive another session of Congress with David Wu and his cohorts in control, enabling this to happen.

Private sector jobs continue to disappear – while government jobs, salaries and pensions grow.
So-called solutions like cash-for-clunkers have solved nothing.
The TARP program has failed to create private sector job
Bailouts of private companies like GM cost taxpayers too much and further distort a struggling economy.
We face a $12 trillion debt and a $1.8 trillion deficit – and we still have no solutions for unfunded programs like Social Security and Medicare.

Oregon likes to pride itself on sustainability, but when federal spending is 25% of GDP and revenue is only 15% of GDP, this is by very definition -- unsustainable.

Oregon voters must send a strong messenger to Washington DC this November to voice the themes of this year’s Tea Parties about fiscal restraint and limited government. I will deliver that message! I will stop the mugging! The mood of the country is ripe for a sea change in Congress in 2010. And my race to defeat Wu IS WINNABLE!!
